We're launching a new feature on RBL today - Rock Band Lounge Magazine! And our very first cover artist is singer/songwriter Marty Casey.
Shot on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, it's an intense and up-close look at one of our favorite artists. So if you're on a laptop, go find a BIGGER screen, and if you have a slow Internet connection, be prepared to wait, because this show is HUGE. But it's worth it! And please, maximize your browser window - it's possible to view it in a smaller window, but these images deserve to be seen full-size.

If you have any questions about the locations, etc., feel free to ask then here and I'll do my best to answer them!

Oh, and what exactly is RBL Magazine? Well it's a new media experiment! This may be a one-time deal, or the start of something new and big for the site. I'm not sure yet...

Cheryl, speaking of seeing, why aren't you reflected in Marty's glasses? It looks like maybe a very faint image in the lens on the left. You didn't photoshop yourself out did you? Awesome shot, just awesome. |

Hey 2-ton! Thanks for the compliments!
And you're right about the reflection. Because this particular image was shot in bright sun, you could see me perfectly reflected in the glasses - and it's not about me - it's about him - so I had to go! In some of the other images from this session, if you really look, you can find me, but you have to really look. That I'm okay with. I'd prefer to not mess with reality. But in the image above, it was just too noticeable not to change.
And once I did take me out, and mess with reality, I started to think how cool the shot would look with something more interesting reflected - like a line of palm trees, or cars, or a line of more interesting buildings - there are lots of things on Sunset that would make for an interesting reflection... |
