Who said hockey players/ex real estate brokers can't rock? Not
us. A smart, amiable, indie rocker, Matt Hoffer is finally
seeing his dream come true as a full time musician.
After several years in corporate America, Matt lived a
comfortable lifestyle, but had the overwhelming feeling that he
was wasting away in an office and not fulfilling himself or his
potential. On stage or writing and rehearsing music was where he
belonged - so he left his job in white-collar America to become
a blue-collar musician, and has never looked back.
Originally from Chicago, his music has been described as
infectious modern rock without the over-the top hooks and
gimmicks often heard on radio today.
Matt spent considerable time playing the college circuit. In
2004 at a gig at
Marist College he told the crowd, "I have the attention span
of a five-year-old. Trying to get someone who would never even
look my way was the motivation behind writing this song. I call
it "Never Comfortable." That song has since become the title
song on his latest CD. At the same show he said of himself "I'm
like a human karaoke machine" - which may come in handy on Rock
Star.
